Four Points By Sheraton Dehradun has come up with a special buffet named, “Riwaaz”. It promises to embrace the beautiful culture of Uttarakhand and its people through food and beverages. Chef Sunder Chand and his incredible team curated the entire menu and here are the diamonds of the menu, reflected on the screen. Madwe ki roti, Gahat ke swaale, Gahat ke Kulche, Toor Ki Dal, Jakhya Aloo, and Pahadi Gosht were among the highlights.

Creativity arises when the taste is top-notch. Four Points by Sheraton Dehradun promises you a splendid brunch and it has proved its worth with its humongous buffet options. I am still going gaga over the starters and you should too. Let us look at, what are the “MUST-HAVE” delicacies while starting a brunch.

Did you see my plating above? Yes, you must have been drooling on Instagram too. Quite legit, eh! With no random order, you are able to visualize a portion of Hakka noodles, perfectly tossed and sauteéd to perfection, vegetable Manchurian balls dipped in a spicy curry, lemon coriander boneless fish, squid, and chicken salad and Pahadi Gosht. Thalis like this entice me to pursue a badass weekend, ahead.

Prepared by stuffing Gahat dal (a special brown lentil) in the wheat and Mandua flour (Finger millet/ragi), Gahat ke Paranthe/Kulche/Swaale makes a very drool-worthy assorted bread in Uttarakhand.

Jakhya Aloo is a dry dish of potatoes seasoned with Jakhiya garlic and local small dry strong red chilies. Garhwali dishes are known for their simplicity, fewer efforts in preparation and rich flavor.

Pahadi Gosht is a yummy mutton curry made with caramelised onions and tomatoes. It is in turn, flavoured with some whole spices like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and bay leaf. These whole spices (Panchphoron, in Bengali) helps to enhance the flavour of mutton and also pulls out an amazingly delicious curry that can be served along with rice or assorted bread. It also goes well with Chicken Biryani.

Health is wealth: Delectable choices of salad

Salads have always been the healthiest option since it came into existence. They are easily prepared at home and are also available at fancy restaurants. Salad has inevitably amazing nutritional results and it exhibits notable health benefits. Salads are the natural source of fiber. The leafy veggies are responsible for controlling blood sugar and reduce cholesterol. It is also regarded as a weapon to fight with cancer.

Desserts are the heart of every meal. Isn’t it? Four Points by Sheraton Dehradun makes your dream come true with a fabulous dessert platter, specially curated by my favourite chef, Sunder Chand. Although we can visualise very well that there are a plethora of options available as in, Panacotta, Mousse, Cheesecake, Pudding, pastries, etc., yet what garnered my attention the most was Basil Tiramisu.🍹🍰

I am baffled by the thought of mixing chocolate and basil but this experiment was worth the effort. A judicious blend of mascarpone cream, chopped fresh basil, cinnamon, grand mariner and your basic ingredients (milk, egg yolk, etc.) gives birth to “Basil Tiramisu”. 🍫🍸 The taste is unmatched. Though the flavour of basil is stronger, it has been cut to an extent so that it compliments well with mascarpone.

Bal mithaai can be easily spotted in any local sweet shop in Uttarakhand. Being one of the most popular sweet options, it constitutes khoya, white sugar cane.
With prolific presentation and lip-smacking taste, Four Points by Sheraton Dehradun is winning hearts across the globe. I had a great time, out there and you MUST VISIT this place to be a part of their extravaganza.
