While many people know me today through restaurant reviews and food recommendations, my journey began long before blogging became a career. What started as a respite from high school bullying became my passion for writing gradually evolved into a platform that has connected me with readers, brands, restaurants, hotels, tourism boards, educators, and fellow creators across India and beyond.

Over the years, Foodicted Fellow has grown into a trusted destination for honest food reviews, lifestyle insights, café discoveries, home recipes, productivity tips, and stories inspired by everyday experiences.

If you’re looking for authentic recommendations rather than promotional hype, you’re in the right place.

How a Kolkata Boy Found a Home in Dehradun

Every city has a rhythm. For me, Dehradun’s rhythm felt different from the moment I arrived.

Growing up in Kolkata exposed me to a culture where food was deeply emotional. Conversations happened over tea. Celebrations revolved around meals. Memories were attached to flavors.

When I moved to Dehradun in 2016, I carried that perspective with me.

What fascinated me was how different Dehradun’s food culture felt. Beyond the popular cafés and well-known restaurants, there was an entire ecosystem of family-run eateries, hidden bakeries, roadside stalls, Tibetan kitchens, local favorites, and community stories waiting to be discovered.

I started exploring the city one meal at a time.

Some weekends were spent searching for the best momos in town. Other days involved discovering cafés that doubled as creative workspaces. Many evenings were dedicated to understanding why locals loved certain places while visitors overlooked them completely.

As someone who has personally visited and experienced hundreds of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, street-food stalls, hotels, and food events across Dehradun and Uttarakhand, I developed something that no algorithm can replicate: local context bound with my personal experiences and emotions.

I know which places consistently maintain quality. I know which hidden gems deserve more attention. I know which restaurants are worth revisiting and which are simply riding on social media popularity.

That first-hand experience eventually became the foundation of Foodicted Fellow. Today, the blog serves as an honest local guide for readers who want trustworthy recommendations, genuine experiences, and practical lifestyle insights rooted in real life.

What Makes Foodicted Fellow Different?

The internet already has thousands of food reviews. So why should you trust mine? Because every recommendation is built on three principles:

1. Experience Before Opinion

I visit, taste, explore, observe, and evaluate before sharing an opinion. My reviews focus on the complete experience rather than a single dish or a promotional narrative. Yes, I do promotions (a lot), but what sets me apart is that I myself visit that place/take that service myself as a customer for 10-20 times before sponsored programmes.

2. Transparency Matters

If a visit is part of a collaboration, sponsorship, invitation, or media partnership, it is disclosed clearly. Readers deserve honesty. Trust is more valuable than any campaign.

3. Local Insight Over Trends

Virality doesn’t always equal quality. Many places trend online for a few weeks and disappear. I focus on recommendations that deliver consistent value rather than temporary hype.
